Alexander the Great statue
This statue is reproduction of a statue of Alexander the Great found in his native city of
Pella, the capital of ancient Macedonia. With an army of almost 40,000 an aggressive fighting force, Alexander conquered Asian Minor in a series of brilliant battles and he defeated the
Persian King Darius III, taking all his land and titles. Driven by his
visions he fought for another seven years, leading his army into Russia and
eventually to India. As a result of his conquest, he had opened new trade
routes that brought vast areas under the control of Macedonians.
